Iron and salt drawing of a carpet, copper funnel, glass element
2019
Ponte Conversation with Paolo Aita
curated by Donatella Giordano and Donatella Pinocci, Carlo Bilotti Museum, Rome
The decoration of a carpet is drawn with salt on 4 iron plates laid on the ground.
For the duration of the exhibition, the oxidation of the elements produces a pattern of rust and transforms the aesthetics and meaning of the work in an alchemical process. A transmutation that aims to be a ritual that accompanies Paolo, the poet and musicologist and friend to whom the work is dedicated, on a journey into another dimension.
