Stabat Mater
STABAT MATER
STABAT MATER is a sound and visual experiment that tends to create a poetic dialogue between the artistic research of Guendalina Salini and the musical project Canti Antichi by Elsa Lila and her quartet (composed by Lorenzo Bucci, arrangements and classical guitar, Giulia Anita Bari , violin, Javier Salnisky, bandoneón, Giuseppe Civiletti, double bass). For this occasion at the Macro Asilo, Giovan Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater is interpreted and adapted in a contemporary key, abandoning the lyrical voice register to become sang and accessible. Guendalina Salini presents a video and some drawings taken from photographic archives and from the web which portray the faces of agricultural workers who have lost their lives in Italy in recent years. One of the many tragedies to which our contemporary world turns its back, a forgotten humanity from whose loss comes the cry of the Mater, mother earth who mourns her many exploited children.
The work is co-produced by Canti Antichi and La Frangia, a cultural association that combines art and human rights. And it is dedicated to:
